My Story
I have accepted the Lord as my Saviour over thirty years ago because I love the Lord with all my heart with a deep passion for Christ. My experiences have drawn me much closer to Christ and the Grace of God has enabled me to live a Christ-like life.
BECOMING A CHRISTIAN IS NOT A BORING EXPERIENCE for me, although I came from a christian home where my mother had been an inspiration to me as a Godly woman, I often call on God for myself. Coming from a family of eleven children, one can easily get over- looked, especially if you are a middle child. Our parents did a good job on us, teaching biblical principles and loving us equally. We lived a very fun life. My father was not a christian but he fathered us the best way he knew how.
I had soon realised that there was a calling of God on my life. I went to live with my eldest brother and his family as a young teenager to help care for my niece and nephew who were under the age of three years. During those years, the Lord had used me to witness to my brother and my sister-in-law, who both became born-again believers.
I was very active in my church particularly, the youth department. I have witnessed to many youngsters and observed God work in their lives.
At age sixteen, I went back to live with my mum. I went to a Christian school where my life began to change drastically! I had drawn closer to God and seemed like Joseph to my brothers and sisters, unfolding dreams and visions to them has God revealed Himself to me in a new and different way. Because my family was so big, I often spent my prayer times in our back garden away from noise and clutter or in the tiolet where I would read and Bible and meditate on the Lord. I soon realised that I knew the Psalms and Proverbs very well and would live by them. We ofetn reprimanded our brothers and sisters by using the Scriptures form the Proverbs.
We weren't rich with money, but we were rich with love for each other and with the Bible as our most popular book on our shelf and there were many types in our home. All my brothers and sisters knew the Lord and are serving the Lord as their Saviour. We give thanks to God for my grandparents who prayed for us daily and was also an inspiration to us especially Grandma Lena who died when I was twenty-two. I used to tease her a lot when she prayed and called on the Lord. Her way of speaking to God was rather funny. She had one message, 'Man serve the creature more than the Creator!'. I used to laugh at her and she would wave her finger at me and say.
"The Lord rebuke you, rebellious child. Be quiet and listen to me."
I was prayed for the most because I was a comedian in the family. I could imitate everyone and anyone. Now I am imitating Jesus Christ. Paul said follow me as I follow Christ. It is indeed a pleasure to follow Christ. I must make a difference to my generation and my generation must live for Jesus better than I did. This is a philosophy that I have taught my children. One generation must do better than the next.
I am married and a mother of six children!. God has called me to make a difference in my generation, to raise standards and to impact a nation. I work with Carmel Ministries Internatiional as a leader in the church and coordinator in the Little Eagles pre-school/ nursery. God has called me to work with children. I have a love for children. I am a graduate of Anchor Bible Training Centre. I am qualified as a Nursery Nurse, a Hospital Play Specialist and am presently doing the Foundation degree in early years at Bath Spa University.
My desire for the future is to become a preacher of the Word of God and to open my own Christian School. I am walking in my season and will continue to be a blessing to my home church.
